Whispering Heights Cottage "Whispering Heights," is a couples-only cottage that honestly has what one might describe as "a million dollar view". Perched high above the river, this location is definitely one of a kind; "awesome" and "breathtaking" are the words which have frequently been used to describe it. The horizon includes distant pine forests and the Ouachita (pronounced wash-i-taw) Mountains of western Arkansas. The Mountain Fork River seems to flow into the ridge directly below the cottage from a half mile away, and you're able to see it flowing around and past the cottage another quarter mile beyond. All the amenities you would expect to find in a quality, romantic couple's retreat are here: wood-burning fireplace, king size bed, Jacuzzi for two, separate luxury shower, private deck. The all-glass gable brings the view literally into the cabin; the deck allows you to look straight down into the river below. In case of rain, the full-length front porch enables you to still enjoy the outdoors. You even have the option of taking in quiet summer evenings or nights on the screened-in porch, which has an incredible view with its location being on the river-side of the cottage. Quality furnishings including a BOSE CD player, granite countertops and a beautiful hard-wood floor accent a cottage that already has it all. The cottage is completely furnished with all cookware, utensils, and serving pieces, as are towels and linens. The kitchen includes a dishwasher, full cooktop/oven, microwave, coffee-maker, and refrigerator; it also has a washer and dryer for use during longer stays. A charcoal grill is available on the deck, as are incredible, hand-crafted deck chairs for your relaxation and leisure. This log-style cottage has an open floor plan, a split-level, drop-down kitchen area, and utilizes approximately 1000 sq.ft. It has central heat/air, and is very secluded with great privacy from the nearest cabin. Rate: $220/night, Monday-Thursday; $235/night, Friday-Sunday. *couples only, no pets.
