The Homestead

Ideal for families or groups up to 8 persons, this true log cabin is the latest addition to Rivers Edge Cottages.

The Homestead is a 3 bedroom, 2 bath with 2000 sq. ft. of living space and is located on the banks of the Mountain Fork River. Although it has a limited view of the river, it offers easy access within only 40 steps of the river bank. You'll enjoy the sounds of the river as you soak in the 5 person hot tub on the back deck. The cabin features a real, rock fireplace, a large jacuzzi tub for two inside, and a wonderful back yard which borders the river. The interior is all-pine and spruce log, with wood floors and a granite kitchen. The living area, kitchen, and dining area are all open and provide ample space for larger groups or families.

The floorplan provides an open living, kitchen, and dining area, with the master bedroom and bath downstairs. The bathroom with jacuzzi may be accessed from the master bedroom, which has a king bed. The upstairs contains 2 large bedrooms, each with queen beds, and a full bathroom with a shower/tub combo.

The large chef's kitchen is fully stocked; everything you need for typical cooking is provided. A charcoal grill is provided (bring charcoal). Dining capacity includes a dining table for 8; an additional 4 persons may be seated at the bar/center island. A full fridge with ice maker, microwave, coffee maker, and stove are included, and the cabin has central heating and air with separate, zoned controls for upstairs, master bedroom, and living area.

This getaway offers great yard space; there’s room out front and in back—plenty for the kids to romp and play. There’s also a swing set for the little ones. As with all cottages at Rivers Edge, a pair of bikes and use of canoes are included free.

Rate: $245/night (M-Th), $260/night (Fri-Sun).
