River’s Edge FAQs
Cancellation Fee—what if we need to cancel?
Yes, there is $25 fee on all cancellations. There is a 21 day cancellation notice required for full refund of deposit, minus the $25 fee. Cancellations MUST BE CONFIRMED; voicemail messages/phone recordings not accepted for cancellations. Cancellations made within one week of check in will be charged 100%. If cancelled within 3 weeks of your stay, you will forfeit the first night’s rate plus tax, unless we are able to get the dates booked by another party.
Canoes/Kayaks—do you have them?
Canoes are provided free on a first come, first served basis, for whenever you’re in the mood for a leisure float or an hour or two of fishing. *Guests MUST bring canoes back to their original place.
Driving directions—can I find you with my phone or GPS?
Yes and no. You will lose signal frequently during your drive due to mountainous terrain. Be sure to bring the map from our website for local directions. Our address is 491 River Edge Road, 74963.
Grilling—are there grills at the cabins?
Yes. Charcoal grills. Don’t forget to bring charcoal and lighter fluid, as it also helps start fires in the fireplace and firepit.
Minimum Stay—how many nights are required?
Yes, 2 nights minimum reservation; 3 nights minimum holiday weeks/weekends. We do occasionally allow one night bookings in between other reservations, when available.
Pet—do you have pet-friendly cabins?
Yes. Well, half our accommodations are pet friendly: The Streamside, Mtn. Escape, Mtn. Chalet, Bear, Riverbend, and Homestead cabins are pet friendly! A $25 fee will apply per night. Pets must be leashed outside of cabins.
*Please note we only accept dogs; 2 dogs maximum in a cottage.
Phoning—I can’t get through. Is there another way to call Rivers Edge?
Yes! Tim and Suzy, the owners of Rivers Edge, can be reached at (918) 775-1122 or (918) 775-0628.
Rain—can I move my booking if it looks like rain?
Well, as our cancellation permits. We don’t guarantee nice weather, but we did include fireplaces, jacuzzis for two, board games, and covered outdoor areas just in case!
Restaurants—are there eateries nearby?
The nearest restaurants are 45 minutes away. Our guests typically grill and eat in.
Securing my Reservation—what’s required?
A valid credit/debit is card required to guarantee your reservation. The first night’s rate plus tax (9.25%) is required. You may pay your balance by other means upon your arrival.
Snow/Ice—what if winter weather prohibits safe driving?
We will never pressure you to drive on unsafe roads. We will not cancel your booking simply on the threat of bad weather, but when conditions are truly risky. If roads are icy or slick, we will allow you to postpone your booking to another date.
Sunday check-ins. Do you allow them?
Generally speaking, we don’t allow bookings to start on Sundays. You may stay through Sundays. Occasionally, upon request, we’re willing to ask housekeepers if anyone wants to clean on a Sunday, but we never require it. If someone is willing to work on a Sunday you may not check in before 6pm.
Swimming—an we swim in the river?
Yes you may. Do bring water shoes as it’s super-rocky and hard on the feet.
Televisions—do you have TV's?
Our Homestead, Woodhaven, River Ridge, and Pine Summit do have satellite TVs. We will be adding a few more TVs before long. We hope you will not see the lack of TVs as a negative, but as an opportunity to enjoy each other and have fun playing games or doing other fun things.
WiFi—is it available at your cabins?
We have wireless internet at several of our cabins. The Homestead, Pine Summitt, Chesapeake, Whispering Heights, Windsong, Mtn. Chalet, and Mtn. Escape have internet available. Our lack of high speed wireless is a result of the mountainous terrain which limits cell service, and an abundance of trees which limit satellite placement.
