  1. Setting

    If riverfront cabins in southeastern Oklahoma are what you seek, you've found it. The Bear Cottage features an all-glass front which offers a wooded Mountain Fork River view. Perched on the hillside, a picturesque staircase leads to the cabin’s raised front porch. Huge white oak and maple trees surround the cabin, giving it a natural forest setting.

  2. Amenities

    A five person hot tub is privately located on the back deck, which may be accessed by either the kitchen or master bedroom doors. The deck also features a picnic table, a charcoal grill and a nearby fire pit. Ideal for a family, each bedroom has its own private bathroom/shower. The Bear Cottage is a favorite of couples who enjoy a romantic setting; the jacuzzi for two is located inside the master bedroom. A beautiful rock fireplace gives this cottage a rustic, cozy atmosphere. Bear Cottage's capacity is four adults max; the sofa is not a sleeper.

  4. What else is included?

    Kayaks and canoes are provided FREE with your stay at Rivers Edge Cottages.  We provide firewood for each cabin between October 1 to April 1. Charcoal grills are provided at each cabin (don't forget to bring your own charcoal and lighter fluid). All cabins have air conditioning, walk in showers, double jacuzzi, coffee, filters, range, frig, and microwave. 

    A large playground area is also available for all guests which includes a large sandpit volleyball area, horseshoe pit, swing set and grassy area for playing games.

  5. River Ridge

    The largest of the cabins and a favorite for families and groups alike looking for a special gathering place. Seated high on the ridge, this 2300 sq.ft. cabin has an incredible view of the river below and surrounding mountains. It features an upstairs gameroom with a pool table and a foosball table. The view from the gameroom is expansive. You can also enjoy this sweeping view from the porch swing on the balcony.

  6. Setting

    Locating Broken Bow cabins on the water is a challenge. Driving a bit further north you'll find more McCurtain County cabins that are just that: on the water. Ideal for families or groups up to eight persons, the Homestead is a true log cabin with three bedrooms, two baths. It's another of our southeastern Oklahoma cabins that's a short walk from the river.  From the deck you'll enjoy the sounds of the river as you soak in the 5 person hot tub. This getaway offers great yard space; there’s plenty of room for the kids to romp and play. There’s also a swing set in the backyard for the little ones.

Go bird watching in the woods; you might spot a Pileated or a Downy Woodpecker, a Kingfisher, a Blue Heron, or even a Bald Eagle. Grab a bike and explore our country roads. Hike through the woods or along the river on trails made just for you.

  11. Guest Policies

    • First night's rate plus tax charged with booking; balance due at check-in.
    • Two night's rate plus tax charged on bookings of 5 nights or more.
    • Group Bookings (3+ cottages): Charged half with booking; balance charged 30 days prior to check-in.
    • Valid credit/debit card--V, MC, D--required to guarantee reservations. 
    • No Sunday check-ins, No exceptions (can't start bookings on Sunday).
    • No pets allowed except Streamside, Mtn. Chalet, Mtn. Escape, Bear, Homestead, Riverbend Cabins; dogs only, max of two dogs.
    • Cleaning charge of $75 for pet hair on furnishings or excessive cleaning.
    • 2 nights minimum reservation; 3 nights minimum on holidays (call for one night openings).
    • Prices and policies subject to change; weekend rate may apply during holiday stretches or spring break weeks.
    • Deposit must be made at time of booking by credit/debit card. 
    • An "Incidental Damage Fee" of $15 is added to all reservations. This covers broken/lost items (keys, dishes, glasses, towels), but not ruined sheets/bedding and furniture/decor.


    • $25 fee on all cancellations.
    • 21-day cancellation notice required for full refund of deposit, less $25.
    • Cancellations made within 7 days of check are charged full price of stay.
    • All cancellations inside of 21 days are refunded up to the amount we are able to rebook to another party, guaranteed, less cancellation fee.
    • Bookings of 3 cabins or more and bookings of 5 nights or more may forfeit deposit if cancelled within 30 days of booking date.
    • Cancellations MUST BE CONFIRMED; voicemail messages/phone recordings not accepted for cancellations.

    Designed for couples only, the Mountain Chalet features an all glass front with a scenic forest view, a sunken double jacuzzi in the great room, and a large walk-in shower for two beside the king size bed. The cabin is fully furnished and offers plenty of candles and bath robes for two. It has a wood-burning fireplace. The deck and jacuzzi end of the cabin are raised, giving its guests elevated privacy. Coffee, cappuccino, and popcorn are waiting for you when you arrive. Free Wifi, range, microwave, frig.

    This fisherman’s cabin is your answer to finding truly secluded Mountain Fork River cabins. The river is just thirty steps away from the front porch. The Riverbend Cabin offers much more than just a great view and location. It is well-equipped for romance with a jacuzzi for two. It features an attractive hillside stairway leading from the covered front porch down to the river. Few Oklahoma getaways offer rival this upper Mountain Fork setting.

    The master bedroom’s huge windows provide breathtaking views of the river. Two comfy sitting chairs, a beautiful king size bed, and a jacuzzi for two make this romantic room special. The kitchen area with unique, earthy quartz countertops, includes an island bar and all the items you would expect in a gourmet kitchen. The windows below the cabinets enable the chef to enjoy river views even while cooking!

    The bathroom has a large walk-in shower, and there's even a large screened in porch for enjoying a bug-free evening out. The spacious back deck offers a table for taking in the view over a romantic meal, and a roomy hot tub is set just below the deck. You'll want to keep an eye out for the family of otters that frequent this secluded stretch of the river.

    This fisherman’s cabin is your answer to finding truly secluded Mountain Fork River cabins. The river is just a few steps down the stairway from the front porch. The Riverbend Cabin offers much more than just a great view and location. Few upper Mountain Fork River cabins rival this setting. It has a covered front porch, an open deck for grilling, with a firepit adjacent. Perfect for a small family or two couples.

  20. Autumn finds Rivers Edge brilliantly laced with color. The peak for fall colors tends to be from October 15 through November 15, with the best colors usually the first full week of November. Color may be visible in early October and sometimes hang around to Thanksgiving. Spring woods boast of dogwoods and redbuds while winter offers unhindered views through the forest.

    The Talimena Scenic Drive, a mountain top drive extending from Talihina, Oklahoma, to Mena, Arkansas, lies only a half-hour drive across the majestic Kiamichi Mountains to the north, and is a must-see. More scenery abounds at Broken Bow Lake, in and around Beavers Bend State Park, forty minutes away. Highway 259--from Poteau to the north, and Broken Bow to the south--has been designated as a scenic byway.
